Ashley's Story
Full of Enthusiasm: Ashley's Story

When she was profiled in the fall of 2003, Ashley Ziegler was an
enthusiastic third-grade student at Chapelfield Elementary School in
Gahanna-Jefferson Schools in Ohio.
After participating in extended day kindergarten, Ashley was
identified as still needing the safety net experience of Reading
Recovery in first grade. A first-round student, Ashley started
her program reading at Level B and discontinued 20 weeks later at
Level 12. As a third grader she still manifested the same exuberance
for learning, and her teacher looked for even better things to come
for her in the future. This article first appeared in The Journal of
Reading Recovery, vol. 3, no.1 (Fall 2003) |
