Session Title
Changing the Way the Brain Works Through Intervention
Description
Struggling readers have developed inefficient reading behaviors,
including guessing at words, ignoring errors, and disregarding
meaning. These behaviors indicate a weak monitoring system, which may
be the result of poor instruction or limited opportunities. This
session will discuss the implications of intervention on how the brain
works, including ways that teachers can create conditions for
reversing reading failure.
