Biography
Connie
Briggs
Connie Briggs is a professor in the Department of Reading and
Reading Recovery trainer emerita at Texas Woman’s University. She
has 13 years of elementary school experience and has worked with
teachers and schools in long-term professional development projects
in several states. She continues to work with struggling readers to
inform her practice and teaching of graduate and undergraduate
students. Dr. Briggs is past president of RRCNA and NATG.

Description
This session will describe how phonology and orthography contribute to
a successful literacy processing system. Children's change over time
with literacy processing will highlight how Reading Recovery
procedures support individual learning.
